Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is our host and a more dramatic setting for a three day WFA course will be hard to find. Kandersteg is centrally located in Europe – 65 km from Bern, the capital of Switzerland in the heart of the Bernese Alps. Kandersteg is a mecca for hikers offering hiking, via-ferrata paths and multi-pitch rock climbing. We suggest you arrive a few days before course start or stay a few days to enjoy this great area!

The course are open to everyone. No previous experience needed. A few spots on this Wilderness First Aid course is open to NOLS Wilderness Medicine grads who need to recertify their Wilderness First Responder (WFR) or Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA). CPR is included in this Wilderness First Aid course. We promise that you will have fun while learning really important skills! 50% of our time are hands-on with outdoor scenarios! This course type is recommended for all members of ATTA.

The WFA course is taught in English. There is no written or practical test – you just need to be active in both classes and our many scenarios. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.
