Wilderness First Responder Recertification courses

Our WFR-R courses are for folks with a WFR or WAFA who need to recertify. We welcome NOLS graduates as well as participants with certifications from SOLO, WMA, Aerie, Remote Medical or any other group – as long as they have a valid WFR card that is not expired.

These courses are scenario-focused, giving students the chance to refresh their skills through hands-on practice. This approach helps identify any gaps and offers valuable opportunities for skill refinement. The use of case studies, discussions, and scenarios with added complexity deepens understanding and provides challenges in controlled settings, allowing students to build resilience and confidence.

This course is the most popular recertification program in Wilderness Medicine and is ideal for current Wilderness First Responders and Wilderness EMTs. The WFR- Recertification course is pre-approved for 18 hours of EMT CEUs by CECBEMS.
