Crossing Latitudes and the Water Rescue Federation of Slovenia are together hosting a NOLS Wilderness Medicine course in Slovenia.
The WFR course is designed to provide you with the tools to take care of an injured person and to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations.
The skills learned on a WFR course are needed whether you are a climber, a sea kayak instructor, a mountaineer, a backpacker or a person who live far away from clinics and hospitals. Calling 911 (US) or 112 (Europe) is not always possible.
Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning.
Half of your time will be spent completing practical skills, case studies and scenarios designed to challenge your decision making abilities. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.
This WFR course is held at Kamp Koren, Kobarid, Slovenia. https://www.campingslovenia.com/
