Crossing Latitudes designs and implements Kick-offs, Retreats and Leadership & Teambuilding Workshops. All programs are offered in Swedish and English.

Outdoor workshops take people out of the familiar zone of comfort or complacency and challenges them to think and act in new and creative ways. Through mental and physical activities participants are given opportunities to meet individual and group goals. Self leadership in the form of motivation and commitment are some of the first steps to successful work teams.

Our main outdoor activities are Coastal Sea Kayaking and Backpacking. Under careful supervision we help our participants to gain the necessary skills for a safe and enjoyable time in the outdoors. The ocean and mountain environments provide appropriate challenges for working together effectively and creatively.

Or how about a Team building event that focuses on First Aid. Together with the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS we teach one and two day wilderness first aid courses. Come and learn skills for life and at the same time focus on Leadership and how to work well as a team. These courses are great fun and can help you save lives!

We accept risk as an integral part of traveling and living in the outdoors. Crossing Latitudes manages risks by using good judgment based on experience, training and knowledge. We take extreme care with medical issues, pay great attention to the changing environment and are constantly aware of everyone's well being. Our staff are trained in Wilderness First Aid.

How Crossing Latitudes does it:

Personal Leadership & Teamwork
Leadership with Crossing Latitudes is practical, not theoretical. The term "Leader" is not a synonym for dictator; nor do the biggest muscles or highest university degree determine the most competent leader. Leadership is the ability to make decisions in difficult situations, to keep employees and partners involved and motivated. In our workshops hands-on problems and challenges provide opportunities for Co-creative problem solving, taking initiative, and action.

Effective Communication Styles
In the outdoors the results of our actions are immediate. In this environment open and honest communication is crucial. Crossing Latitudes works with groups to express their thoughts, ideas, fears and solutions. Through activities and discussions we explore both verbal and non-verbal communication styles.

People skills
You must know where you have been and where you are before you can determine where you are going. In the outdoors people can relax, have fun, and get to know each other beyond the office. Understanding and respect for each other are paramount to building an effective team.

Technical Skills
Learning new skills at any age is a confidence booster. Learning new skills with others is rewarding and inspiring. Enthusiastic and secure people are often more open to new approaches and change. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching in the outdoors is to see individuals, who doubted their abilities, become more confident and competent.

We offer 2-5 day workshops. Choose between camping and living in the outdoors or returning to indoor housing after a full day of outdoor activities.
